Whether you want to go where everybody knows your name or you just want to get out of the house to watch the game, Atlanta has a sports bar to suit your mood. With all of the sports fans in town, you’ll never be alone in rooting on your favorite team. Check out our selection for some of the best local spots to settle in for a few hours and let us know if your favorite made the list.

The Rusty Nail Pub
2900 Buford Highway N.E.
Atlanta, GA 30329
(404) 634-6306

The Rusty Nail has two locations, and both embody all of your favorite dive bar qualities. Dark, friendly and without any of the “Sex and the City” crowd, this isn’t the bar where you’re likely to meet your next girlfriend. But it is a great place to get away from the distractions of home and hang out and just enjoy the game on TV. The kitchen serves above-average pub fare, and the bartenders are friendly, regular guys.

2425 Piedmont Road N.E.
Atlanta, GA 30324
(404) 869-9422

Woofs is one of Atlanta’s most popular gay sports bars, located on Piedmont Road in Midtown. On game nights, it’s likely to be packed, but on other nights you can play pool or join in team trivia. It’s known for having friendly bartenders and a lively crowd any night of the week. There are plenty of huge televisions so that you can see the game no matter where you roost.

Brewhouse Cafe
401 Moreland Ave. N.E.
Atlanta, GA 30307
(404) 525-7799

If your sport is soccer, then the Brewhouse Cafe is where you will want to be on game day. Soccer may not be Atlanta’s most popular sport, but at the Brewhouse you will find passionate supporters of the game. Naturally, it also tends to draw an international and interesting crowd, as it is located in Little Five Points. The food is better than you would expect from a sports bar, although the online menu is out of date.

Red Pepper Taqueria
2149 Briarcliff Road N.E.
Atlanta, GA 30329
(404) 325-8151

There’s nothing like Mexican food and the game on TV to take your mind off of your problems. Red Pepper gives you an escape from your everyday stresses. Of course, there are tasty tacos and beers aplenty, but if you’re watching your weight, there are also quite a few salads and healthier options. There are also over 100 types of tequila on hand, so you might want a taco or two to soak them up.

Front Page News
351 Moreland Ave. N.E.
Atlanta, GA 30333
(404) 475-7777

Front Page News delivers everything you want in a typical sports bar. The food is a combo of standard bar food and cajun flavors from New Orleans. There are plenty of large screen televisions located around the bar so you won’t miss a minute of the action. Don’t expect a lot from the service, but if you want a place where you can watch the game in peace, this is a good fit. It usually draws a good crowd during Sunday football games.
