While dance as an art form traces its roots back to Biblical times, organized dance performances in the Atlanta area date back to the 1800s. Dance plays a big part in Atlanta’s history as the city has hosted performers from all corners of the globe over the years. Just think back to the Opening Ceremony of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta and you will recall all the dancers spanning many ages that participated.
