NORFOLK, Va. (CW69 News at 10) — The Atlanta Gladiators dropped a close one to the Norfolk Admirals by a score of 2-1 Wednesday night at the Norfolk Scope Arena.
The Glads took a 1-0 lead late in the first period on a Hugo Roy goal, but Norfolk responded with two goals to seal the victory in regulation. Goaltender Kevin Mandolese made 39 saves in his debut with Atlanta.
After Atlanta took the lead, Norfolk evened the contest when Noah Corson flipped the puck into the back of the net just nine seconds later. Early in the third period, Norfolk took the lead and never looked back.
Recently reassigned goaltender Kevin Mandolese finished the game with 39 saves on 41 shots for the Glads in his Atlanta debut. Beck Warm was solid on the goal for Norfolk, landing 38 stops on 39 Atlanta shots.
