Hosea Helps, A Leader In Addressing Direct Action Solutions For Eliminating The Poverty Loop, Gives Update on Demographic Data On Its 16th Annual Back-2-School Jamboree
Atlanta, GA (July 13, 2021). As of July 13th, Hosea Helps has already pre-registered 1000 children. Another 500 children are on a waiting list. Families who have completed preregistration on our website will receive free book bags and school supplies for their children, new shoes from Footlocker, enough groceries for the first two weeks of school, including fresh produce, and PPE supplies.
This Back-2-School Jamboree is a portal into the deeper needs in our community. Demographics suggest that of the 427 families that have pre-registered, 125 need rent assistance, 112 need utility assistance, and all 427 are experiencing food insecurity. 121 of the individuals are unemployed, 115 are living with other family members, and several of these families indicate that they are experiencing domestic violence. This Back-2-School jamboree allows Hosea Helps to meet the greater needs of a larger segment of our community. This Back-2- School Jamboree will also allow us to touch children recovering from the trauma of Covid-19 and give them hope to go back to school with everything they need.
Support us by sponsoring the remaining children who must receive assistance. Our goal is to raise $40,000 to completely serve all those we have identified throughout the Metro Atlanta area.
