ATLANTA, Ga. (CW69 News at 10)
Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced the release of Affordable Housing ATL: A Resource Guide for Residents. The guide provides information on public agencies and nonprofit organizations that offer affordable housing and related services.
“Atlanta residents are facing rising housing costs and we want to ensure that those who call Atlanta home—especially our legacy residents—have access to all resources available to assist them,” said Mayor Bottoms. “Our Administration created this guide to increase awareness of the City’s housing programs and services and to connect Atlantans to this information.”
The Affordable Housing ATL guide was created by the City’s Department of City Planning and advances the goals of Mayor’s One Atlanta Housing Affordability Action Plan. The City recognizes that the process of finding affordable housing can be daunting. As the population and economy of Atlanta have grown, housing prices and rents have also risen, creating challenges for many residents. In this context, there was a clear need to demystify the types of housing and services available, who qualifies for them, and how to access them.
The guide was prepared by the City of Atlanta Department of City Planning and builds on our Administration’s ongoing investments to increase affordable housing in Atlanta, including the recent authorization of $50 million in affordable housing bond funding.
