CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. (CW69 News at 10) –Cherokee County Sheriff’s Detectives say they have located one person of interest and are still looking for another one for questioning in connection with the June 26, 2020 fatal shooting of JonDavid Russell Johnson, 41.

They said the first person of interest, Shene Kirk, 33, of Lafayette, was arrested in Gordon County for a parole violation.
Authorities are asking for help in locating the second person, Krystal Dianna Campbell, 30, of Gordon County, for questioning. They say Campbell currently has warrants out of Chattooga County for a probation violation. They also said her vehicle was found abandoned in a remote part of Gordon County the day following the homicide.
The Sheriff’s Office says Johnson collapsed after walking into the Squares gas station at 6080 Highway 92 in Acworth on June 26 after 11 p.m. They said he had been shot in the torso and was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. He later died from his injuries.

Investigators said they found about nine ounces of methamphetamine inside Johnson’s hotel room after he was killed and said the homicide appears to be drug-related.
