Griffin Police report that Rasheed Redding has been arrested by the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office.
On May 17, 2020, at 8:27 pm P.M., The Griffin Police Department responded to a call of a person shot at 522 Hallyburton St., Griffin Ga., 30223. The victim, later identified as Virginia Sanchez, age 51 of 601 Hallyburton St., Griffin, Ga., was transported to Wellstar Spalding Regional and then to Atlanta Medical Center with serious injuries. Another residence in the area, 408 N. 12th St, Griffin, Ga. was also struck with an apparent stray round but no one was injured at that location.
The investigation revealed that an individual/s came to that location regarding a dispute over a stolen bicycle when one of them discharged a firearm striking Sanchez. Warrants have been obtained on the following subjects:
Rasheed Shareef Redding – 16 year old male from Griffin – Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault with a Weapon (5 counts), Criminal Trespass (Damage to Property), Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Possession of a Pistol by Person Under 18 years of age.
Michael Marquavious Jester – 18 year old male from Griffin – Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault with a Weapon (5 counts), and Criminal Trespass (Damage to Property).
