ATLANTA, Ga. (CW69 News at 10) — Police arrested a woman they said got into a CBS46 news van and drove off with a reporter inside before it crashed.

The charged Seniqua Lunsford, 38, with kidnapping after the incident.

Officers said they received a call for help around 5:30 a.m. today and responded to 270 17th Street NW. They said they were looking for a driver who crashed a 2011 Toyota Highlander near that location.

Authorities said a news van happened to be working on a different story nearby. They said the driver of the van got out of the vehicle, but left it running with reporter, Iyani Hughes, still inside working in the cargo area the van.

Officers said that’s when Lunsford jumped in the van and drove off. They said the reporter shouted for help as officers tried to stop the van before it crashed in another area.

Police confirmed what else took place before the arrest:

The van fled the area and crashed into a traffic circle near Peachtree Circle and The Prado NE. The Ms Lunsford got out of the vehicle and was arrested by responding officers. During the investigation officers learned that both the victim and the suspect were pregnant. The reporter was not injured but was taken to the hospital for examination. The suspect suffered injury to her arm and was taken to Grady Detention.
