ATLANTA, Ga. (CW69 News at 10) — UPDATE: Reward increased from up to $2,000 to up to $5,000.

Investigators with the Atlanta Police Department said they are looking for suspects who robbed and assaulted a police recruit in his home in Southwest Atlanta where he lives while attending police academy training.

Officers said the recruit heard noises around 2 a.m. before witnessing two black men enter the home through a bathroom window. They says one of the suspects started choking him, but he was able to escape with minor injuries and call 911.

According to APD:

The suspects were able to flee the home with some of his property. At this time, there is no evidence that indicates the recruit was targeted due to his employment with APD. However, the investigation continues. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation assisted today with the attached composite sketches. The men were described as wearing long sleeve shirts and black shorts.

Anyone with information on the suspects should call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS. You can provide anonymous tips, and there’s a potential reward of up to $5,000 for information leading up their arrests.
