Personal money management is a subject that many people struggle with – even in a robust economy.  A 2019 Harris Poll for the nonprofit National Foundation for Credit Counseling found that 1 in 4 Americans report that they are not paying their bills on time.

Wallethub.com compared 2,572 different cities in the United States and found that eight of the worst twenty cities are in Georgia – including the four worst.

The four worst are Fairburn, Lithonia, Hampton and Hinesville.  Jonesboro and Union City were also in the bottom ten.

The comparison included the key metrics of debt level and financial behavior including credit scores, number of late payments, delinquencies, foreclosures and bankruptcies.
