ATLANTA, GA — It was business as usual for Atlanta congressman and civil rights activist Rep. John Lewis, who was on the House floor Friday morning, reports WSB-TV. He was present to cast his vote with Democrats for a resolution that would limit President Donald Trump’s power to initiate war against Iran. Lewis’ appearance comes less than two weeks since announcing his stage four pancreatic cancer diagnosis.
Following a routine medical visit, the congressman recently learned that he has cancer. He said last month that he planned to return soon to Washington, D.C., to begin treatment and resume work on Capitol Hill.
