It is truly my favorite time of the year. Eggnog on draft (that sounds gross actually). Chiffon and red velvet—all just so magical. The show that brings all that to life for me is Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas.”

I first saw this show two years ago when it came to the Fox Theatre and was just as blown away as I was when I saw it this year. This production represents the nostalgic holiday moments and how those moments can help one escape the harsh realities of our bitterly cold world.

It’s a bit difficult to fill the shoes of Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney, especially, but this cast was phenomenal beyond measure. My favorite numbers were “Sisters” and “White Christmas.” Typical, I know. I will say I like it when Bob (Sean Montgomery) and Phil (Jeremy Benton) sing “Sisters” better (you’ll see why). They were just so magical!! There’s just something about the classic feel of this show that keeps generations old and new coming back.

The ensemble numbers make you feel like you’re sitting in front of your television set equipped with three major channels eating a TV dinner. It reminds us that the Golden Age is still alive and well, and we must continue to embrace it. The energy and the rush from the entire cast gave us a reason to celebrate the season. And wait until you hear the song “White Christmas” as the show closes. You’ll get chills. No pun intended.

The show is here until December 2nd at The Fox Theatre. You can grab your tickets here. Here’s a suggestion: get there EARLY! The lines are extremely long, because this show is worth it. May your experience of Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” be merry and bright, my friends!
