BUTLER, Ga. (AP) — Georgia Bureau of Investigation says a man shot another man outside his ex-wife’s house before beating the man and woman with a baseball bat.
News outlets cite a GBI release saying 43-year-old Raymond Gibson went to 36-year-old Christal Gibson’s house Saturday and shot 54-year-old Edwin Kruse outside. The GBI says Gibson then beat his ex-wife and Kruse with a baseball bat.
The release says Kruse suffered gunshot wounds to the abdomen and leg and was airlifted to a hospital for surgery. Christal Gibson was treated for a broken arm and bruises to her hips and legs.
Butler police charged Raymond Gibson with two counts of aggravated assault before turning the investigation over to the GBI, which anticipates more charges.
Gibson was being held in the Taylor County Jail. It’s unclear whether he has a lawyer.
