BISHOP, Ga. (AP) — An UGA faculty member has died after being hit while riding her bicycle.
Georgia State Patrol spokeswoman Tracey Watson tells news outlets that a pickup truck hit 45-year-old Karen Tinsley from behind Tuesday night in Oconee County, killing the avid cyclist.READ MORE: MARTA Displays Artwork Celebrating 'Joyful Moments In Black Culture'

The Athens Banner-Herald reports that charges are pending against the driver, 55-year-old Richard Poulnott of Watkinsville. It is unclear whether he has an attorney.
