Dave Archer, color analyst for the Atlanta Falcons Radio Network,  joined he Midday Show with Rick and John talking Falcons.

Rick suggested that Dave Archer should take over the Monday Night Football booth after Jon Gruden returned to the Oakland Raiders and Archer kindly replied he is happy with the Falcons.

Archer described how well the Falcons defense was able to contain Todd Gurley and the Rams’ running game. He also talked about the throw from Matt Ryan to Julio Jones when his foot slipped on the grass but he was still able to get the ball to Jones in the end zone.

Sarkisian made adjustments at the half against the Rams, said Archer, and kept Los Angeles’s defense on the field longer. Archer talked about the experience for first-year coaches in the playoffs, including Sean McVeigh and Doug Peterson.

Special teams will play a big part in the game this weekend against Philadelphia, said the color analyst. Shockingly Archer and Rick agreed about how the Falcons should game plan for the Eagles, and perhaps throw on first down.
