As hard as it is to believe, the year is almost over and the holiday season is upon us. If you’re like many people who procrastinated on their holiday gift shopping, or just someone who never misses an opportunity to immerse themselves in the season, one of Atlanta’s many holiday markets is for you. Whether it’s a month-long standing store transformation or a pop-up event with local vendors, Atlanta’s got something for every holiday need.
Christkindl Market Atlanta Holiday Festival
1371 Market St. N.W.
Atlanta, GA 30363
If you’re looking for some unique gifts for the holidays this year, or just for a unique cultural experience, head down to Central Park at Atlantic Station through Dec. 23 for the Christkindl Market. Produced by the German American Cultural Foundation, Christkindl Market (which translates to “Christ Child Market”) is a street market in the old German tradition. In addition to German foods and drinks like mulled wine and lebkuchen and German toys, the Christkindl Market will feature concerts, carolers, and other events to get you into the holiday spirit.
Craft and Vintage Holiday Market at Indie Craft Experience
400 Ponce De Leon Ave.
Atlanta, GA 30308
No one does pop up markets like Indie Craft Experience, or ICE, Atlanta. And the holidays are no exception. On Dec. 10, ICE Atlanta will present its annual Craft and Vintage Holiday Market in the Yaarab Temple from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The event will feature a number of Atlanta’s best vintage and craft makers, including A Nod to Lucy, Compass Bracelets, Debbi Smith Design, and Dorothy O’Connor Photography.
Sunday Holiday Market at Indie South
670 Trabert Ave. N.W.
Atlanta, GA 30318
Indie South has gained a reputation in Atlanta for its strong showing of curated traveling markets and high standards for vendors. So their Sunday Holiday Market, held Dec. 10 at Monday Night Brewing, is a must-attend for anyone looking for high quality and local gifts for the holidays. As with all Indie South pop up markets, the Holiday Market will feature not only local artisans and designers, but also a full experience with food, music, and craft activities.
Holiday Bazaar at American Threads Avalon
2200 Avalon Blvd.
Alpharetta, GA 30009
American Threads at Avalon in Alpharetta will be hosting a Holiday Bazaar on Dec. 17. The event will run from Noon-7:00 p.m. The pop up shop will feature four local artists selling jewelry, candles, paper goods, and vegan beauty supplies. Exhibiting at American Threads’ Holiday Bazaar will be Raw & Rebellious, Cooper Lake Candle Company, Sherbert Shop, and Marvi Beauty.
Grant Park Farmer’s Market Holiday Bazaar
600 Cherokee Ave. S.E.
Atlanta, GA 30312
Root City Atlanta is presenting the Grant Park Farmer’s Market Holiday Bazaar on Dec. 17 for those truly last minute shopping needs. Root City’s farmer’s market community is a chance for local and independent artists to get their work showcased to the larger public. And while a Farmer’s Market might make you think of food related gifts, the Grant Park Bazaar will not be featuring any food products (although you can likely get your fill at the Farmer’s Market itself). Instead, it will focus on more durable gift items. The Grant Park Farmer’s Market Holiday Bazaar will run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
