Everyone’s bucket list looks a little bit different. Some people wish for daring feats while others look to more serene encounters. Give these five activities a look and cross an item of your personal bucket list without ever leaving your hometown.

Take the Leap with Skydive Atlanta
2333 Del Ray Road
Thomaston, GA 30286
(706) 647-9701

Rarely does a month go by that you don’t read a news story about a 90 year old grandmother skydiving for the first time. But you don’t have to wait until you’re 90 to cross jumping out of an airplane off your bucket list. Since skydiving is a sport that requires some open spaces, you’ll have to drive to nearby Thomaston where Skydive Atlanta will be happy to cater to every level of skydiving bucket list. If you want to do a one-time tandem dive with a trained diver, they can accommodate you. If you want to certify to skydive independently, their certification classes will get you there. There’s a reason why Skydive Atlanta calls itself the “Bucket List Specialist.”

Swim with Whale Sharks at Georgia Aquarium
225 Baker St. N.W.
Atlanta, GA 30313
(404) 581-4000

You don’t have to spend the money to get to an ocean resort to swim or dive with whale sharks. You don’t even have to leave the Atlanta city limits. The Georgia Aquarium offers a chance to swim with whale sharks, the world’s largest fish. But don’t be concerned. These sharks are known as “gentle giants” for a reason. While they may grow upward of 30 ft. in length, whale sharks are docile. For those with Scuba certification, Georgia Aquarium offers a chance to dive with the sharks.
