An Atlanta mother has been charged with the murders of her two young children.
According to police, 24-year-old Lamora Williams killed two of her 3 boys; the youngest being a year old.
Ja’karter and Ke’yaunte Penn’s bodies were discovered at the Oakland City West End Apartments Friday evening.
According to police, Williams claims that she left her children with a relative Friday around noon and returned home later that evening to find the children, 1 and 2 years old, dead. Her 3-year-old survived.
Neighbors refute Williams claim and say the apartment, “smelled like death”, leading investigators to believe the children’s bodies may have been inside the for multiple days.
Family members believe this could have been prevented.
“This was something we saw that could possibly happen,” said William’s sister, Tabitha Hollingsworth.
According to Brenda Williams, Lamora Williams’ mother, her daughter battled with mental health issues.
Brenda Williams advised Fulton county jail to, “put her on suicide watch because she’s gonna kill herself.”
Williams waived her first appearance in court on Monday morning.
