The Atlanta Falcons beat the Green Bay Packers to get the first win in the inaugural game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday night. It was a great night for the fans and the city with the new stadium being featured on national TV. If there were any thoughts of a Super Bowl hangover, the Falcons certainly quieted their critics. They played well on both sides of the ball.

Meanwhile, the day before, Atlanta United had a record-setting crowd on hand as Joseph Martinez had a hat-trick in the draw. The team is redefining what the MLS can be in the future.

In college football, Georgia rolled over Samford but are going to have a tough task against a legit contender in Mississippi State. The game everyone was talking about, however, was Florida’s last second Hail-Mary play to beat Tennessee in Gainesville.
