A 33 year old veteran who told authorities he had lost his benefits and was going to be homeless was killed by Cobb County police during a hostage standoff at a Wells Fargo Bank in Marietta. The incident lasted several hours before the hostages were released. Cobb County police identified the veteran as Brian Easley. CBS News filed this report.

Easley held a backpack that he said contained explosives. A backpack was removed from the scene. Police have not said whether any explosives were found.
