There’s nothing like live music with a backdrop of the beautiful city of Atlanta, and the Masquerade offers just that for music lovers. Since 1990, the Masquerade has been the home to many national, and local bands round the United States when they come to the city of Atlanta. Previously located at the historic Dupre Excelsior Mill, they now make their home in the historic Underground Atlanta, Kenny’s Alley. Their new location offers more of the downtown Atlanta experience for its patrons while still offering bands three of the best stages in town to play in front of in Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory.

In the heart of the coolest neighborhood in Atlanta, Little Five Points, the Variety Playhouse offers a hip inner-city experience for its patrons. Formerly a movie theater, and newly renovated for the masses, this intimate concert hall has featured a variety of popular acts such as Beach House, She and Him, and Best Coast. The acoustics in the venue creates a sound like no other for the ultimate live music experience. Get up close and personal with on the ground floor or experience their new balcony. Buckhead Atlanta is one of the ritzy and glamorous areas in Atlanta where bright lights and big city dreams are made. The Bulkhead Theater is small and intimate with only a capacity of 1,000 seats, with bars upstairs and downstairs which creates a unique up close experience for music lovers.  Acts such as Tegan and Sara, Yo La Tengo, and Bastille has graced the popular stage at The Buckhead Theatre. While small enough for an intimate show, yet large enough for a great standing room show, the acoustics rival any live music location in the city of Atlanta.

Terminal West, located in the King Plow Arts Center complex, is a one stage, one bar treat for music lovers. It’s a great live music venue that’s particularly smaller than most yet offers a amazing sound quality with a modern and cool atmosphere. Smaller than most venues in Atlanta, it has a unique layout that offers a worthwhile convenience for patrons makes it easy to get to bars, bathrooms, and food even at capacity. Indie bands such as Warpaint, Band of Skulls Terminal West is home of many emerging indie bands alike with a great cult following.

Aisle 5 Atlanta, formerly The Five Spot, is your quintessential music venue for obscure indie bands to play live shows at in Atlanta. Located in Little Five Points, the space was renovated back in 2014 with a new stage with an updated sound system. Though it only offers one giant room for live shows, with amazing sound quality, and superior light production, it a local favorite for great live music for any music lover of any genre including indie music.
