The Falcons’ star wide receiver — the one Joe Buck astutely mentioned the Falcons traded five draft picks to procure back in the 2011 NFL Draft in hopes that he could get the team to a Super Bowl, may have done just that with an insane 73-yard touchdown catch and run early in the third quarter of the NFC Championship game against Green Bay.

First, Jones was absolutely accosted by cornerback LaDarius Gunter straight off the line of scrimmage (a flag was thrown), but he shrugged Gunter off and continued on his route.

Then, Jones caught a Matt Ryan offering on a slant route and streaked towards the far sideline as Gunter pursued the speedy wide receiver. One Gunter caught him, Jones merely shrugged him off once more and continued his sprint down the right sideline.

From there, only one man stood in his way, cornerback Damarious Randall, who seemed to have an angle and an opportunity to stop Jones, or at least force him out of bounds short of the red zone.

No chance.

Jones dismissed Randall’s tackling efforts too, and was home free for an incredible, top-10 worthy score to put the Falcons up 31-0 early in the second half.

Currently Jones has 167 yards and a 2 TDs on eight catches.
