VALLEJO (CBS SF) — A Vallejo woman has been the victim of the same car thief, not once, but twice this week.
On Tuesday evening, the woman was carjacked in her neighborhood near the intersection of Vervais Avenue and Carolina Street. Her purse and credit cards were in the trunk of the vehicle.READ MORE: Guidance Counselor Arrested For Driving Under The Influence
She did her own detective work and the next day she tracked her credit cards to a nearby store.
The victim, who wishes not to be identified, obtained video surveillance footage from the store showing the alleged male suspect and a woman trying to use the victim’s credit cards at the store. But the cards had already been canceled.
That night the victim located her car, parked in her own neighborhood.
The woman came face to face with the thief, only blocks away from where she was carjacked. It was parked less than a block from her own home. Using her own key remote, she got into the car but then the man she saw in the surveillance footage came running out of her neighbor’s home, the victim said.READ MORE: Buford Man Indicted in $650 Million Ponzi Scheme
She described the scene of KPIX 5: “I’m screaming ‘you stole my car, you stole my car.’ He was punching me in my chest, he was kicking me, he did not want me back in that car because I was reaching for the keys. And he says, ‘you know, if you want to live, and you don’t want to die, you don’t want to get shot, you better get out of this car’.”
The suspect carjacked the woman for a second time, knocking her to the ground and running her over as he drove off.
By the time police got there, the suspect was long gone, the victim said.
The suspect hasn’t been seen since
Now, she’s sharing the surveillance video of the suspect in hopes of getting the man off the streets and getting her car back. But Vallejo police has responded to KPIX 5’s requests to confirm that the man in the videos is a suspect.MORE NEWS: Panic-Buying Causes Temporary Shutdown Of Several Bay Area Gas Stations
