Lots of future NBA players on the floor in Chapel Hill last night as Duke shocked UNC in another thriller in the best rivalry in college hoops. Here’s what I saw from my couch…

Brice Johnson is the second coming of David West. Intelligent banger and leader with some bounce and a sweet shooting touch. He’s 6-9, 230 and projects as a starting power forward in the NBA. Very polished all-around game. If Johnson takes UNC to the Final Four, which appears probable based on their ridiculous talent, he will shoot up draft boards. As we speak, Draft Express has Brice going #42 to the Hawks. I beg to differ, he’s a first round talent. I’d be cool if the Hawks took him with their pick in the high teens or low 20s.

Brandon Ingram is very interesting player… I mean, playmaker. Whether it’s a hand on a ball or a block or a drive to the hoop or a three, he just makes plays. I’m not sure what he will be in the NBA just yet, 3 or 4, starter or reserve, but he kinda reminds me of Stacey Augmon and Darius Miles. I don’t necessarily see an NBA star here, but his length and instincts will keep him paid for a long time. Draft Express is currently mocking Ingram at second overall. I’d rather have Buddy Hield or Kris Dunn or Jaylen Brown.

Grayson Allen is a baller. I see some Gordon Hayward in his game, not nearly as explosive at the rim, but he’s crafty in the mid-range game, accurate on threes, and clutch. He’s also tough. UNC laid the wood to Allen a couple times and he just popped up and kept coming. Ask yourself, who would you rather have in the NBA, Allen or Joe Harris, who was an early second round pick by the Cavaliers? Just sayin…
