The WWE announced today that their World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins was injured during his match with Kane at a live event in Dublin, Ireland on Wednesday. ESPN’s Jonathan Coachman (himself a former WWE employee) was first to break the news and later posted a picture of the injury itself.

This development throws a major kink in WWE’s plans for the upcoming Survivor Series Pay-Per-View, as Seth Rollins was supposed to defend his Championship against his former Shield running-mate, Roman Reigns. In that match’s place, as Coachman also reported, the WWE will instead be holding a tournament for the vacant title. It remains to be seen which competitors will be announced for this tourney, but it should make for an exciting Survivor Series at Philips Arena on November 22nd.
