T.J. Ward is known for having tackled some well-known cases, including that of Ariston Waiters who was shot and killed by a Union City police officer in 2011. A Grand Jury had ruled that the officer was not responsible for Waiters’ death, that was until new evidence was uncovered. Now, the Fulton County District Attorney says he is working to take the case to a second Grand Jury.

Ward, is the President and CEO of Investigative Consultants International, Inc. He has been hired by the family of Nicholas Thomas to get to, they say, “the real truth” in the death of their son. Nicholas was fatally shot by a Smyrna police officer in March. A Cobb County Grand Jury determined last week that the officer was justified in shooting through the windows of the white Maserati that Thomas was driving. The officer claimed that he feared for the lives of the other officers and that’s why he fired.
