
PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is offering $9 million in grants to help coastal communities deal with extreme weather, changing ocean conditions and climate hazards.
The NOAA National Ocean Service is providing $5 million through its Regional Coastal Resilience Grant Program and NOAA Fisheries is providing the rest through the Coastal Ecosystem Resiliency Grants Program.

She says they will also encourage new ways to mitigate “the threats of severe weather, climate change and changing ocean conditions.”
