When Lesley McSpadden and Michael Brown Sr. visited Atlanta in September 2014, she told me “I’m just doing what I gotta do. I’m standing up for my son like I’ve always stood up for him.” Today, the family is filing a lawsuit against the city of Ferguson, Missouri.
