The duo spoke with the fashion magazine Panorama (via Billboard) about traditional families saying they are those families with both a mother and a father. In the piece, the couple used the words “chemical offsprings” and “synthetic children” to describe in-vitro fertilization (IVF) babies.
“No chemical offsprings and rented uterus: life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed,” they said.
John, who has two sons, Zachary and Elijah, through IVF, took offense at the designers’, who are gay and were once a couple, skepticism that IVF could lead to a proper family, taking to his Instagram Sunday (March 15) to criticize the two.READ MORE: Gavin Newsom Goes On The Air Against Ron DeSantis As Political Rivalry Grows
“How dare you refer to my beautiful children as ‘synthetic.’ And shame on you for wagging your judgmental little fingers at IVF — a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfill their dream of having children,” he wrote.
Ending his post with a truly classy, but stinging critique: “Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again. #BoycottDolceGabbana.”
