Last week the Falcons were able to make the most of their Bye Week as only five players were listed on the injury report. This week the outlook isn’t as nice, but it’s not a drastic jump in numbers as a half dozen Falcons are listed for their Week 11 game against the Carolina Panthers.READ MORE: New Study Aims To Settle Debate, Did Dinosaur Blood Run Warm Or Cold?
Only one Falcon is officially listed as out: backup offensive tackle Jonathan Scott (hamstring). Scott didn’t participate in any of the practices this week. Two Falcons are listed as probable: starting left guard Justin Blalock (foot) and backup defensive end Jonathan Massaquoi (foot). Both men were limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but did go back to full participation on Friday. Harland Gunn is listed as Blalock’s backup on the depth chart.
The final three Falcons are all listed as questionable. On the offensive side of the ball, wide receivers Harry Douglas (foot) and Devin Hester (ankle) both had the same week regarding practice ability. Both men did not suit up on Wednesday, but on both Thursday and Friday Hester and Douglas were back, albeit in a limited amount. While both men are technically second-string receivers, if Atlanta needs a 3-5 wide receiver set, expect Eric Weems and Freddie Martino to fill in if they are needed.
The final Falcon listed is backup cornerback Josh Wilson (ankle). He wasn’t listed on the injury report until Friday when he was limited in his amount of snaps. He’s currently listed as Robert McClain’s backup, and if McClain can’t suit up, Javier Arenas would be the likely replacement.
In case you weren’t paying attention to the title of this article, yes, Carolina does have 13 players listed on their injury report. Just like the Falcons, the Panthers have just one player officially listed as out for the game: defensive tackle Star Lotulelei (ankle) who who did not participate in any practices this week.READ MORE: Details on gunman and victims in Uvalde, Texas school shooting
Just one Panther is listed as doubtful: offensive guard Amini Silatolu (knee). Three Panthers are listed as questionable: tight end Brandon Williams (foot), defensive end Charles Johnson (non-injury related) and cornerback Bene Benwikere (ankle).
The final eight Panthers are all listed as probable with three of them on the defensive side of the ball: safety Roman Harper (non-injury related), cornerback Melvin White (knee) and defensive tackle Kawann Short (ankle). The other five Panthers are all offensive players: linemen Nate Chandler (toe) and Trai Turner (ankle), wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery (hamstring) and running backs DeAngelo Williams (foot) and Jonathan Stewart (ankle).
Kickoff is scheduled for 1pm ET. #RiseUp
