MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s the question we all want answered — What is the “perfect” amount of sleep?
Researchers in Finland analyzed sleep data from nearly 4,000 men and women. They determined that magic number is 7.6 hours for women and 7.8 hours for men.
They found those who got more or less than the perfect amount of sleep each night, also had fewer sick days at work.
For optimal female sleepers, they called in about seven days a year.
For men, about six days.
The study also found that men were more willing to take a sleeping aid in order to make sure they’d get the rest they needed.
