Atlanta, Ga.–In non-conference play, the Clark Atlanta University (CAU) Panthers dropped a 42-2 decision to the University of West Georgia (UWG) at Panther Stadium Saturday. In the opening quarter, West Georgia (4-0) attacked early with 21 unanswered points until a safety late in the period put the Panthers (1-3) on the board.

The Wolves then scored a touchdown in each subsequent quarter for the win. Clark Atlanta’s Montavious Taylor rushed for 94 of the Panthers’ 119 total rushing yards on 25 carries while Deandre Jackson was the spark plug on special teams with 139 kick-return yards. Running Back Seth Hinsley led all players with 105 yards on the ground for West Georgia. Defensively, CAU’s Deonte’ Eckwood finished with a game-high 6.5 tackles included six solo followed by Terrence Montgomery and Bre’nard Williams who finished with six each. Williams also added two tackles for a loss while UWG”s Laronji Vason and Jamaree James led the team with five tackles each.

Next, the Panthers will host Atlanta University Center (AUC) rival Morehouse College Saturday, Oct. 4th, at 2 p.m., in Panther Stadium.
