Virginia Union University Athletic Director Joe Taylor said on Tuesday, March 11, that the school will not renew the contract of head men’s basketball coach Luqman Jaaber.

Jaaber is in the final year of a three-year deal that expires at the end of March.

The Panthers went 6-20 this season, were 5-11 in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association and were eliminated in their CIAA Tournament opener by Johnson C. Smith University.  They went 31-49 under Jaaber.

Virginia Union will begin a national search for a new coach, and will begin accepting resumes immediately.
