Atlanta, Ga.—The Clark Atlanta University Panthers got the sweetest victory of the season thus far after ending a five-year drought against Morehouse with an impressive 21-17 victory over the Maroon Tigers at B.T. Harvey Stadium Saturday.

“This win feels great for the athletes, the university and the team overall,” said CAU Head Coach Kevin Weston who recorded his first win since taken over the program this season.

Freshman running back Montavious Taylor, who led all rushers with a game-high 154 yards on the ground, punched in two touchdowns including the game-winning score at the 5:18 mark to gave the Panthers a four-point advantage. Defensively, safety Stevon McGill sealed the deal with his first interception on the season with 1:02 remaining in regulation.

The Panthers produced a season-high 445 yards on offensive capped with the quarterback play of freshman Trenton Earl who passed for 157 yards while converting on 12-of-16 attempts.

“The differences in this game and the first three games were our consistency and we finished plays,” noted Weston.
