(WAOK/Atlanta) — The recent signing of New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports is striking a bad chord with the NFL Players Association. According to NFL.com, the union plans to send a letter to Smith’s agent Kim Miale to find out if Jay-Z took part in recruiting meetings that helped get Smith signed to Roc Nation. Because Jay-Z isn’t an NFLPA-certified agent he’s not allowed to participate in recruiting meetings.

Since Roc Nation Sports launched last month, the company has also signed Major League Baseball star Robinson Cano and WNBA rookie Skylar Diggins.
