ATLANTA (AP/WAOK) – The City of Atlanta is teaming up with the Environmental Protection Agency for the 2013 Earth Day Cleanup Challenge.

The challenge, set for April 23, is a service opportunity aimed at cleaning and beautifying various areas of the city. Organizers say participants will pick up litter and run beautification projects — like tree planting, and landscaping.

The event is set to culminate with a public rally at the Centennial Park Pavilion in downtown Atlanta.

Groups looking to participate in the challenge or propose a new beautification project are asked to register on the event’s website.
