Another win for the hometown Falcons and this win is probably sweeter than the last five, because the Falcons’ are now the NFL’s only undefeated team after Houston’s 42-24 loss to Green Bay. However the road to 6-0 was just as bumpy as the road to 4-0 and 5-0 with the way they’ve come down to the wire.

The Raiders led the Falcons in every statistical category and could have won the game had it not been for several costly turnovers including Asante Samuel’s 79 yard interception return for a touchdown with less than three minutes in regulation but even then they had a shot tying the game on a two yard run by Darren McFadden with 40 seconds remaining.

However Matt Ryan, who’s arguably been the best QB in the league over the past five weeks wouldn’t be denied even after throwing three interceptions to a Raiders’ defense that also held the Falcons’ run game in check allowing only 45 yards on the ground.

As time ran out Matty Ice completed four passes to set up kicker Matt Bryant, who for the second time in three weeks lined up and nailed a game winning field goal this one a 55-yarder with 1 second remaining to extend the team’s best start in franchise history.
