ALBANY, Ga. (AP) – The Georgia Board of Nursing has granted approval for a nursing program at Albany State University, the state’s only historically black university with such a program.
The Albany Herald reports (http://bit.ly/IRbWb0) that the board approved the nursing program through 2015.
Approval by the state board means the the university’s nursing education standards meet state regulations in training students. School officials say there are 300 students enrolled in the
pre-nursing program and 150 undergraduate students on track to become registered nurses through the program.
