So Peter King picked the Atlanta Falcons to win the Super Bowl this season based on yesterday they only way they could possibly win a championship this year is if a Super Bowl could be a 1st half only game. The 1st half Falcons came out fast and furious going up 24-7 before halftime and then all of sudden in the words of John Madden…

The Falcons went cold only scoring on two field goals for the rest of the game and in the process allowing Tarvaris Jackson to lead the Seattle offense to 21 second half points and if Steven Hauschka’s 61 yard field goal had gone in the Falcons would have suffered a loss of Dallas Cowboys proportions.
Hopefully the Falcons (2-2) weren’t looking past the Seahawks (1-3) to next Sunday’s big game versus the Green Bay Packers (4-0). The last time the Falcons and Packers hooked up Green Bay defeated Atlanta 48-21 in a game that the franchise will never forget and yesterday was almost one of those games as well.
We’ve gotta give TJax some love!!!
QB Tarvaris Jackson had a career game yesterday, torching the Falcons defense completing 25 of 38 passes for 319 yards and 3 touchdowns in the loss. I understand that Jackson is from the SWAC’s Alabama State University and wasn’t highly touted coming out of college but at some point you’ve gotta show the man some love! Here’s a guy that was named starter of the Vikings towards the end of his rookie season, he also led Minnesota to the playoffs a couple years after that but the most impressive thing about him is the same thing that has made Aaron Rodgers so DAMN good!

Jackson played backup to Favre the past two seasons in Minnesota and looking at him yesterday I saw several Favre like characteristics, a couple of years ago Jackson was known for trying to force plays that weren’t there however even with his team down by 20 points he played with the poise of a true veteran and even the announcers during yesterday’s game pointed out how Jackson was changing his cadence and snap count in an effort to draw the defense offsides much like the legendary gunslinger.
Ok so back to the Falcons.
There was a lot of good to take away for Falcons’ fans; Tony Gonzalez picked up his 92nd career TD, Michael Turner scored 2 TD’s (10 multi-touchdown games), Julio Jones recorded his second straight 100 yard game, and kicker Matt Bryant is still very consistent.
Now here’s the bad; for the second straight week Roddy White had 2 fourth quarter drops, 2nd half play calling, the defense gave up nearly 250 yards during the 2nd half.
The Green Bay Packers return to the Georgia Dome Sunday night and I really hate to say it but I expect to see more of that 48-21 drumming from last season and the main reason being the Falcons’ defense. Through the first four games of the season Aaron Rodgers has completed 103 of 141 passes for 1,325 yards and 12 touchdowns.MORE NEWS: The House Passes Democrats' Health Care And Climate Bill, Clearing Measure For Biden's Signature
