Ok, when I first started at Sports Kings Radio I wrote a piece asking which professional franchise in Atlanta is the epitome of stability. The answer that I gave was the Atlanta Braves and with good reason. The Braves were a 14 straight division winning franchise, along with having one World Series Title. However, they just finished a collapse of epic proportions, losing a 9 game Wild Card lead to the St. Louis Cardinals. The Falcons are now respectable having put together back to back winning seasons but are they any closer to a Super Bowl win, especially considering their 1-2 start. Philips Arena is host to the team that very well may bring another title to the ATL, and no….it’s not the Hawks!!!

The Atlanta Dream will be playing in their second consecutive WNBA Championship against the Minnesota Lynx. This team struggled at the outset this year but bounced back to reach the playoffs. Although considered underdogs in both series, this “scrappy” squad took care of business against Connecticut and Indiana. Led by leading scorer and MVP Candidate Angel McCoughtry, the Dream may just bring a banner to the rafters of Philips. McCoughtry was interviewed on the show last Sunday and sounded supremely confident in their ability to finish this year. With this confidence and great team chemistry, in the words of V-103’s own Kenny Burns, “The Dream Is REAL”! Make sure we all support this team.
