The first of what may be many mediation sessions in the sexual misconduct lawsuits against Bishop Eddie Long and New Birth Missionary Baptist Church has ended. Barbara Marschalk, the attorney who represents New Birth and its LongFellows Youth Academy mentoring program, said additional mediation sessions, could be held.  Attorney B.J. Bernstein, who represents the four men who have accused Bishop Long of coercing them into having sexual relations, has not made a public comment on the proceedings. However, it has been reported that the first mediation session saw a testy exchange between Bishop Long and the young plaintiffs.

The four plaintiffs are Spencer LeGrande, Maurice Robinson, Anthony Flagg and Jamal Parris. LongFellows Youth Academy is named in three of the suits.  Bishop Long has denied the accusations.  If mediation efforts fail, the case could go to trial later this year.
