Dekalb County has a sewage problem.

Recently over 7,000 gallons of sewage spilled into Peachtree Creek. That is  nothing compared to the 65,000 gallons of sewage that spilled into Camp Creek last month. Dekalb county was fined more than $450,000 by the EPA. Last year an 11% rate increase on water was approved to help the city pay for its 1.3 billion dollar project to repair the sewer system. Dekalb County COO Richard Stogner says the county is researching which areas should be addressed first.

850 sewage spills have been reported in Dekalb County over the last five years.
