by @TaraLipinsky

Does The Detroit Free Press think Michigan won the NCAA Championship? Is Tiger Woods the only guy who can get away with dropping the F- Bomb and is Lennay Kekua back? All that and the most heartwarming college football move you’ll ever see in this week’s That Thing You Missed.

Manti Te’o’s Fake Girlfriend Had A Better Bracket Than You

Lennay ESPN TTYM

More than eight million people entered ESPN’s NCAA Tournament Challenge but guess who won?

Manti Te’o’s fake dead girlfriend.

“Lennay Kekua’s Entry” finished first winning a $10,000 Best Buy gift card.

Damn, this non-existent woman got more press, had a better boo, won wore money and somehow knew enough to freakin’ pick Florida Gulf Coast over Georgetown than any “real” woman I know.

I am so not letting her into my Fantasy Football league.

Hail To The Victors?

According to the Detroit Free Press, The University of Michigan basketball team won its “second NCAA title.”  They’re even selling a book on Amazon.com profiling this “A-Maize-ing” 2012-2013 Season.

Sadly, as you all know, it was the Cardinals who cut down the nets in Atlanta.

That didn’t stop people from snapping it up, however, because it was on Amazon’s best sellers’ list.  Sigh.

Now we see this all the time when the wrong button is pressed on a website and T-shirts claiming a team won accidentally get offered up for sale. But the Detroit Free Press is a journalistic organization.  How can they let this happen? Double Sigh.

On a positive note, my Michigan team may not have won, but its athletic department didn’t fold and agree to wear those hideous Adidas uni’s like Louisville did.

And, frankly, for that alone they are the big winners.

Lest you think this is the snack bar sign from Masters circa 1981, I assure you these are the current costs of chow at Augusta this year.

Can you even get a $4 brew at a hole-in-the-wall bar in the sticks these days?

Well, before you frugal folks get too excited; tickets to the event will cost you at least three grand.

Looks like it’s back to $11 beers at Yankee Stadium.

Broadcast Hazard

It’s no secret Tiger is hands down the absolutely most foul mouthed professional in golf but he never really gets called out for it. It’s annoying.

Clearly the FCC has an aversion to watching golf.

So, I’m happy to point it out with the above video proof.

But we all know it really doesn’t matter what he says as long as he’s winning, right?

Super Bowl

This column is usually about laughing, not about crying. But seriously, what grown man could keep a dry eye after watching this video?

The Nebraska Cornhuskers’ not only befriended seven-year old Jack Hoffman — a brain cancer patient –they allowed to suit up and run for a 69-yard touchdown during a spring game.

And he did it all to the cheers of more than 60,000 fans.

In a time where the NCAA is in a battle over how much of its billion dollars it should share with the student athletes… this puts things back into perspective, no?
