Whether it’s sushi or a fried catfish sandwich, there are times when you just get a strong craving for seafood. While Atlanta is hours away from the ocean, there are still several great seafood restaurants in town. Some have a Southern flair, while some are more traditional. Check out our choices and see if your favorite made the list.

Whatever your seafood craving, you can likely satisfy it at Goldfish. Part of the local Here to Serve family of restaurants, this restaurant makes for a great date night option, especially if combined with dessert and coffee at Cafe Intermezzo located across the street.

Hammocks Trading Company is one of Atlanta’s newer seafood restaurants. You will feel like you’ve just stepped off the beach and into your favorite Jimmy Buffet-style fish fry when you walk through the doors. Owner Jason Sheetz is a friendly presence, and the oysters, shrimp, crab and lobster will make you feel like you’ve had a mini-vacation. Be sure to save room for the make-your-own-s’mores dessert.

Steamhouse Lounge
1051 W. Peachtree St. N.W.
Atlanta, GA 30309
(404) 233-7980

Known for its popular annual Oysterfest, Steamhouse Lounge is an Atlanta institution located conveniently in Midtown on West Peachtree Street. Ultra casual and relaxed, Steamhouse is a great spot to meet friends after work for drinks and dinner. It is justifiably proud of its lobster bisque, and you’ll also find local fare like catfish and grouper. Of course, it’s the South, so you have to have a spicy shrimp and grits option, too.
