If you’ve visited MJQ before, then you know The Drunken Unicorn very well, as the venue is located beneath the nightclub. Both venues can be heard competing for airwaves from outside their entrance, as lines can wrap around joining forces on any given night. The Drunken Unicorn is a cool nugget of a location that puts all the focus on the act and with very few frills for a music venue. Its accessible to local acts, as well as touring acts with a bit of a buzz. With an intimate room, it’s a great place to see any band up close and personal.  As for parking, prepare to pay at least $10 for parking across the street or you can alway park for free on neighboring streets behind the venue, but prepare to walk a few blocks in advance.

Dark Horse Tavern
816 N Highland Ave
Atlanta, GA 30306

The Dark Horse Tavern is cool bar located in the popular Virginia Highland area in the city of Atlanta. Known for being the best karaoke bar in Atlanta, they also have an awesome live band with a very lively crowd on most nights. There is a lot of hangout space from the main seating area to the patios (first and second floor). There’s nothing quite like the experience of singing songs along with a live band onstage or laughing with those people brave enough to hit the stage and perform a song of their own. It’s a great, cheap evening for out-of-town guests and a total blast for a post-work-happy hour group. There’s plenty of street parking and an adjacent parking lot that’s only $3 to park. The Dark Horse Tavern is an excellent choice for a late night filled with fun with friends.
