In a lot of cities across the country, being under the age of 21 means you are shutout from access to some of the best spots for nightlife and live music. Thankfully, Atlanta is not one of them. This Southern city is many things: a college town, home to Fortune 500 companies and the sports and entertainment capital of the South. Therefore, entertainment and nightlife options are not lacking, even for those under the age of 21. Here are some great options for alcohol-free fun.

Eddie’s Attic claims to have the premier “listening room” for live music in Metro Atlanta, and it’s hard to argue with that. There isn’t a seat more than 10-15 yards from the stage and the acoustics are perfect. Acts like Sugarland, The Civil Wars and The Black Crowes all got their start at Eddie’s, and John Mayer calls it one of his favorite venues. Listen to some great music and don’t forget about the great bar and food that is always tasty.

Located in Little Five Points, the Variety Playhouse is a combination between a theater and nightclub, and it provides great musical acts in a comfortable setting. Lounge in one of the movie theater-style seats and enjoy fare from the snack bar, or hit the dancing section and groove to the tunes of your favorite band. All seats are general admission, so get there early to get a spot. A large parking lot is behind the venue and charges a nominal fee, which is a huge plus in this area as finding parking spots can get tricky.

You have to be 18 to get in and 21 to drink at Club Glow (former Club Miami) on Buford Highway in northeast Atlanta. Some nights, it’s a young crowd, due to the DJs and guest performers that come in to perform from all over the country. Wednesday night the ladies get in free all night long.
