There are so many movie theater options in Atlanta, but not every venue is worth the ticket price. Here’s a list of the best theaters in Atlanta for your Hollywood blockbuster and independent movie needs.

Starlight Six Drive-In Theatre

2000 Moreland Ave SE
Atlanta, GA 30316
(404) 627-5786
www.starlightdrivein.com

Who doesn’t like a good old fashioned drive-in movie with that perfect date or a bunch of your closest friends? Starlight Six offers the convenience of both for only $7 (kids 9 and under are $1). Starlight Six Drive-In Theatre screens the latest blockbuster releases starting at 8:30 p.m. If you stick around after the first screening, you basically get to watch a double-feature on a single admission. Movie-goers who love this place recommend bringing your own snacks and drinks and maybe a pillow and blanket if you really want to really get cozy at the drive-in.

Landmark Midtown Art Cinema

931 Monroe Dr
Atlanta, GA 30308
(678) 495-1424
www.landmarktheatres.com

The Landmark Midtown Art Cinema is an alternative favorite in Atlanta thanks to its screening selections (artsy, independent, and mainstream), standard prices ($7.50 – $10) and the much appreciated fact that they serve healthy snacks, cappuccino and alcohol. You’re most likely to watch a movie in peace here as their selections don’t attract a loud crowd.

Plaza Theatre

1049 Ponce De Leon Ave NE
Atlanta, GA 30306
(404) 873-1939
(404) 876-8048

The Plaza Theatre is an historical favorite much appreciated for its majestic decor, authentic movie-house feel, and excellent screening selections. Although it only houses two screens, the Plaza Theatre manages to screen a mix of films. Screenings range from $7.50 – $9 with a $1 discount for every ticket paid for with cash. The Plaza Theatre is also a hit for hosting several film-related events throughout the year.

Regal Tara Cinemas-Atlanta

2345 Cheshire Bridge Rd NE
Atlanta, GA 30324
(404) 634-5661

Tara Cinemas is also another great venue for alternative, independent films you won’t necessarily find in mainstream theatres. The venue is a little on the small side, but is clean and has comfortable seating, and its ticket prices range from $7.50 to $11.
