La Grotta Ristorante Italiano

This upscale, old-school Italian restaurant overlooking a garden has been on just about every “best Italian in Atlanta” list for years. Ideal for sprecial occasions or a romantic dinner, you’ll marvel at the authentic northern Italian cuisine and top-notch service. You may want to consider sitting at their outdoor patio. Their wine list also impresses. We like La Grotta because it delivers on all that a classic Italian restaurant promises.
Sotto Sotto Restaurant

We think they should rename the restaurant “risotto-sotto,” since the dish their is heavenly and should loom large when considering your order. The papardelle al sugo d’anatra (duck ragu) is also recommended. It’ll be served in their cozy, intimate space, although that space can sometimes feel a bit cramped. Their all-Italian wine list is extensive, prices start at around $30 a bottle and go up, up, up.

Chef Jamie Adams gets it right at Veni Vidi Vici. We recommend sampling anything off their rotisserie, although chances are good you’ll be wowed just by the focaccia with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette. You’ll need a reservation, it gets very busy, particularly with the business set.
