So it only makes sense to take a load off and relax a little before all the action starts. Black Wednesday is the day before Thanksgiving and after work gets out and you exhale for 30 seconds, head on down to any of these great Atlanta bars to get ready for the long weekend.

Great food, drink specials and live entertainment will keep you busy until the wee hours of the morning. Then get up and cook your Thanksgiving turkey. As with any good Irish pub, don’t miss the fish and chips or the cottage pie.

Black Wednesday is the official start of the festival that is Thanksgiving weekend, so why not start it in style at Atlantic Station? Atlantic Station is an outdoor mall, but so much more. The Lobby at Twelve owns one of the most exclusive addresses in Atlanta, so you know first class treatment and great food and drinks will be heading your way. Pick your favorite drinks and let Chef Hayes handle what comes out of the kitchen. This venue is not only a favorite of locals, the word is getting around the metro area. While you might want to try Elliott Street out when you are at an event at the Georgia Dome or Philips Arena, this would be an ideal place to take in on Black Wednesday. The food is simple but good and the drinks are priced reasonably. Elliott also offers great live music with top-level local acts and musicians that will let you experience many different forms of music in one night. This could be the perfect place to spend the night before Thanksgiving.
