When you enter a bar and some of the bartenders have Bruins tattoos, you know you’re in the right place as a hockey fan. Again, you may have to ask for the TVs to be tuned to the hockey game, but you won’t get any resistance, and the environment at Twain’s is great for enjoying a beer and a game. Whether you want to play pool or just kick back with some bacon mac n’ cheese fritters, you will be glad you made the trip to Decatur. Twain’s is one of the area’s most popular bars, with a true local following.

If you’re traveling for business or just end up in midtown after work, the High Velocity bar is worth checking out at the Marriott Marquis. This will be more on the high end of sports bars, so if you are looking for a great place to meet a business associate or client over a beer, this is a good choice. It often shows non-football-related sports like hockey, so be sure to ask the bartender to change up the channel if the game isn’t already playing when you arrive.
